Kangaroo Bay Redevelopment

This redevelopment of the waterfront area between Rosny Park and Bellerive was jointly funded by Federal, State and Local Government. It included three major roadworks contracts including relocation of major services, extension of an oval, construction of a new cricket pavilion and parklands, skate park and play areas.

Sugden & Gee undertook project management and contract administration, working closely with client staff to manage the tendering process, review tenders and provide tender assessment reports for council approval. Once a contractor was appointed Sugden & Gee took on the role of Superintendent’s Representative and applied our standard contract administration procedures including a contract register (for correspondence, progress claims, hold points, etc) along with standard formats for site instructions, progress certificates, site instructions, etc. Sugden & Gee provided progress reporting to Council to enable them to claim federal grant money.

Stage 2 of the Kangaroo Bay Redevelopment, was a large scale project to create a multi-use space between the Bellerive Yacht Club and Rosny Hill Road. The works include:

  • Upgrading the intersection of Rosny Hill Rd and Kangaroo Bay Drive

  • Constructing an extension of Alma Street from Cambridge Road to Kangaroo Bay Drive

  • The realignment of Kangaroo Bay Drive and its underground infrastructure and creating a more usable streetscape for the community.

  • Landscaping of the park areas and foreshore

Sugden & Gee are providing contract administration services to CCC for the range of Contracts developed to deliver the project including:

  • Tender documentation

  • Co-ordinating an easy tender process

  • The tender evaluation and reporting to Council

  • Contract administration including acting as Superintendent’s Representative

  • Maintaining a site presence during construction in accordance to the contract

  • Communication between other organisations for an expedited process ​

Sugden & Gee were engaged by Kingborough Council to provide contract administration services for the delivery of Kingston Park Stage 2. This $3m project opened in March 2023. Stage 2 of the Kingston Park development provides open space facilities to complement the playground developed in Stage 1. It includes a series of concrete walking tracks, BBQ’s and shelters, a viewing platform, a pump track, a gathering circle, landscaping, seating, a small oval, lighting, irrigation and a toilet facility. The designer for the park development was Playstreet the contract was awarded to MS Civil Pty Ltd.
